Pony Racing

Pony Racing is said to be the fastest growing equestrian sport in the country, encouraging young British riders to develop a career in horseracing. The riders, aged 9 to 15 years, get to sample and enjoy the experience of a raceday whether they are from rural or more urban backgrounds.

All of the riders are very enthusiastic and really enjoy their racing. Pony Racing is extremely popular and has been the breeding ground for successful jockeys both Flat and National Hunt including Jamie Spencer, Barry Geraghty and Nina Carberry.

Royston Ffrench is a professional flat jockey based in the UK. He is known popularly as “the first great black jockey”, an “ambassador for the new generation” and the “Tiger Woods of the horseracing world” by other jockeys and racing pundits.

Royston has experienced great success during the 2010 flat racing season, winning the Dubai Duty Free at Meydan at the Dubai World Cup meeting and also becoming the first British jockey to win the German Derby in July aboard the Godolphin owned Buzzword.
